Chapman Throws One Scoreless, Dogs Win

The Phoenix Desert Dogs beat the Salt River Rafters 4-1 yesterday in a game that saw Aroldis Chapman make his AFL debut, as he prepares for winter ball, and the transition back to becoming a starting pitcher.

-Brodie Greene was the DH and went 1-4 on the day. He was caught stealing second after his lone single.

-Aroldis Chapman did not start, but came in to pitch a scoreless 3rd inning, where he allowed one walk and struck out one. He faced three batters, getting one to fly out and one to strike out, while the one he walked was thrown out attempting to steal. He threw 16 pitches, half of them for strikes.

-Donnie Joseph allowed three hits over a solid 1.2 innings, where he did not give up any runs or walk any batters.

Chapman will pitch again on October 27th.
