Get to Know the Reds First Round Draft Pick (Video)

With the 27th overall pick in last June's MLB First Year Player Draft, the Reds selected RHP Robert Stephenson (Martinez, California).

The 18-year old has a fastball that is consistently 92-94 and has been clocked as high as 98 MPH this spring. He also sports a vicious curve that ranges from high-70's to low-80's along with a modest changeup.

He had previously been committed to the University of Washington, but opted to sign with Cincinnati instead.

Stephenson is coming off an impressive 2011 campaign in which he posted a 1.19 ERA with 142 strikeouts in 76 2/3 innings pitched.

Some of his accolades include being honored as a 2011 Rawlings Preseason All-American, a 2011 Louisville Slugger Preseason All-American, and a 2010 Aflac All-American. He also graduated with a not-too shabby 4.1 GPA.

Get to know a little more about his oath to the Reds organization in the following video clip.
