Catching Up on MINOR Details: Louisville

It's been a long, but exciting offseason so far in Reds country. It's almost over though. Pitchers and catchers are set to report to Goodyear on February 19th, while the rest are expected by February 24th. Along with the return of the Reds is also the highly anticipated return of MINOR Details here on Redlegs Review to keep you up to date on all the goings-on of the Reds minor league organizations and their players. Over the next week, I'll be updating you on some of the stories and news at each level to get you caught up in time for the start of the season. Whenever roster assignments are announced, we'll get those to you as soon as we can as well.

Today we begin with the Triple-A Louisville Bats...

-The biggest news out of Louisville is that for the first time since 2004, someone other than Rick Sweet will be at the helm, as Cincinnati-native David Bell has been promoted as the new manager of the Bats, from Double-A where he was 176-239 in three seasons with the Mudcats. There are some who believe Bell is the likely successor to Dusty Baker.

-You can bet that with the baseball that's in Bell's blood and family tree, that he is ready to take the reins in Louisville.

-Looking at the Reds Caravan Itinerary, it will make a stop at Slugger Field in Louisville on Sunday, January 29th. Jim Kelch, Jeff Brantley, Dusty Baker, Todd Frazier, Billy Hamilton, and Rosie Red are the featured guests.

-Get your downloadable 2012 Louisville Bats schedule and check out the full schedule here from the official site, as the Bats open play at Colorado Springs April 5th, and then have their home opener against the very same Sky Sox on April 13th.

-Once you get your schedules, order your season tickets so you can enjoy all the great Louisville Bats action with your friends and family.
