Catching Up on MINOR Details: Bakersfield

Many of the Reds minor league teams are welcoming new names to their organizations at the managerial level, as evidenced with David Bell and Jim Riggleman taking over in Louisville and Pensacola, respectively. However, the Bakersfield Blaze may have the most anticipated player joining their roster in 2012, as 2011 Reds Minor League Player of the Year and speedster, Billy Hamilton, will likely start the year at the Class-A Advanced affiliate of Cincinnati.

The middle of the week blazes in with the Bakersfield Blaze...

-After the 2011 season ended, Bakersfield was part of a game that was awarded the MiLBY for Class A Advanced Best Game, and for good reason too. It was a nine-inning 24-19 affair (the longest nine inning game in California League history) with the Inland Empire 66ers that unfortunately ended in a loss for the Blaze.

-The Blaze have got some awesome promotions going for 2012, so if you're in the area make sure you get to the games.

-If you have a child 12 and under and you live in the area, you have to take advantage of the Kids Club, provided by Bakersfield. Free Sunday games! Free Membership ID! Free T-Shirt and more!

-Of course check out your 2012 Bakersfield Blaze schedule and then buy your season tickets to cheer on the Blaze.
