Latest Moves & Notes


* The Reds announced on Friday the names of eight players who were signed to Minor League contracts with non-roster invitations to Spring Training. They are as follows: RHP Sean Gallagher, RHP Chad Reineke, RHP Kanekoa Texeira, LHP Jeremy Horst, LHP Clayton Tanner, C Brian Esposito, C Corky Miller and OF Daryl Jones.

* Cincinnati also named 46-year old Mack Jenkins as the team's assistant pitching coach on Friday. Jenkins will serve under current pitching coach Bryan Price, although it's still unknown whether or not he'll be permittted to be in the dugout and in uniform during games. The 2012 season will mark Jenkins' 23rd year in the Reds organization -- having spent the previous six serving as the Minor League pitching coordinator. He spent the prior 16 years as a pitching coach at multiple levels of the farm system, including Triple-A Louisville from 2002-05.
