Happy birthday to Carlos Fisher

A Redlegs Review happy birthday goes to Reds reliever Charles "Carlos" Edward Fisher. The right-hander is celebrating his 29th birthday today.

Drafted in the 11th round of the 2005 Draft by Cincinnati, Fisher has spent his entire career in the organization. He logged 24 innings pitched in 17 games for the big club last year, including 5 2/3 of those in the epic 19-inning affair against the Phillies in Philadelphia.

He spent majority of 2011 with Triple-A Louisville where he posted a 3.35 ERA and 1.215 WHIP in 32 relief appearances.

After being waived by the club to make room on the roster for OF Ryan Ludwick, the Reds re-signed him to a minor league deal after he cleared waivers. Fisher will look to work his way into a bullpen spot once again in 2012.
