Latest odds to win series, pennant and more

The Reds made a bold decision to push all their
chips to the center of the table this year, and
Vegas seems to think their move could pay off.

I'll be the first to admit that I personally try and avoid gambling. I've never been much of a risk-taker and I cringe at the thought of not having control of my (betting) fate. With that said, I do find the odds coming out of Vegas very intriguing. Why so you may ask? Because they're usually pretty damn close to being right.

Here's a look at some notable Reds odds for the season from and Bovada:

Odds to win the World Series: 20/1 (T-9th)

Odds to win the NL Pennant: 9/1 (T-3rd)

Odds to win the NL Central: 7/5 (favorite)

MLB player with the most HRs: Jay Bruce 30/1 (15th), Joey Votto 35/1 (18th)

Odds to win the NL MVP: Joey Votto 7/1 (favorite)

Odds to win the NL Cy Young: Mat Latos 20/1 (14th), Johnny Cueto 35/1 (23rd)

Odds that Opening Day is now less than two weeks away: 1/1

A few notables:
-Toronto's Jose Bautista is the favorite to smack the most longballs (13/2).
-Los Angeles' Clayton Kershaw has the best odds of winning the NL Cy Young (9/2).
-The Phillies (13/2) are the slight favorites over the Angels (7/1) to win it all.
-The Phils are also favored to claim the league pennant (9/4).
