A plethora of Reds links

Opening Day is less than a week away now, which means there's no shortage of Reds-related reading on the web. Here's my best attempt to roundup some of the more notables ones:

* The team wants to keep All-Stars Brandon Phillips and Joey Votto around long-term. But what they want and what they can do may not be the same thing, writes Tracy Ringolsby of FoxSportsOhio.com.

* The folks over at ESPN.com's SweetSpot blog have been posting some of their predictions for the season. On Wednesday they took a stab at National League Rookie of the Year. See which Red topped the list and which one finished sixth by following this link.

* Dusty Baker and the Reds seem to be leaning toward a "closer-by-committee" approach in response to the injury to Ryan Madson. Sean Marshall looks to be the front-runner to eventually take over the job though.

* Hunger Games star and nearby Union, KY native Josh Hutcherson will throw out the ceremonial first pitch for Opening Night against the Marlins.

* Grant Brisbee of Baseball Nation offers up a preview of the Reds' 2012 season in this post.

* PNC Bank has partnered with the team to launch its first-ever Cincinnati Reds debit card. It will feature a red background and Mr. Redlegs on the front.

* The team remains pleased with the state of its current farm system despite offseason trades, writes Mark Sheldon of MLB.com.

* We published a couple of posts with our season outlooks earlier this week. Check them out if you haven't already.
