Who's hot and who's not right now

The Cuban Missile has enjoyed a nice spring thus far

The Spring Training schedule is now a little over halfway complete and Opening Day is a mere two and a half weeks away. Here's a look at who's been having success this preseason, as well as some players that haven't:

Who's Hot:
- Scott Rolen: The 36-year old is batting .444 (8-18) with a .524 OBP. He has four extra base hits and five RBIs.
- Jay Bruce: The Reds' right fielder is hitting .391 (9-23) with three extra base hits and seven RBIs. He's scored six runs, boasts a .481 OBP, and has two outfield assists.
- Zack Cozart: The rookie is batting .370 (10-27) with four extra base hits (two triples) and five RBIs.
- Chris Valaika: The infielder has six RBIs and a .412 average (7-17).
- Aroldis Chapman: The Cuban native has pitched seven innings, struckout seven and walked just one. The left-hander has posted a 2.57 ERA.
- Mat Latos: The newcomer is 1-0 with an ERA of 2.00 in three starts (nine IP). He's allowed eight hits, a walk and fanned six.
- Jeff Francis: The southpaw has appeared in three games and accumulated eight innings pitched. His ERA is 2.25. He's surrendered five hits, no walks and K'd three.

Who's Not:
- Dioner Navarro: The non-roster invitee is hitting just .130 (3-23) with an on-base percentage of .200.
- Devin Mesoraco: Former first round pick has three hits in 20 at-bats (.150). He has yet to homer.
- Chris Heisey: The enigmatic left fielder leads the team in strikeouts with 12. He's batting just .179 (5-28) with no homers and two RBIs.
- Juan Francisco: Cincinnati's left-handed bopper is hitting .192 (5-26) with a homer and 3 RBIs. He's gone down on strikes on seven different occasions.
- Sam LeCure: In four appearances (8.2 IP) the right-hander has allowed 17 hits and 10 runs. His ERA for the preseason currently stands at 9.35.
- Ron Mahay: The left-hander boasts an unsightly ERA of 10.80 in five appearances. He's surrendered 11 hits in five innings of work overall.
- Clay Zavada: The mustache'd Zavada also is sporting a 10.80 ERA in five outings. The lefty permitted five hits and a team-leading six walks on the spring.
- The Spring Training weather. Cincinnati has averaged a higher daytime temperature over the past week than Goodyear, Arizona.
