-The Bats (12-28) wasted a quality start from Pedro Villarreal who pitched 6.2 innings of three-run baseball. Nick Christiani (0-2) got a blown save and loss, giving up two earned runs in 2/3 of an inning. Jordan Smith allowed no runs in 2/3 of an inning.
-DH Willie Harris was 1-3 with a double and an RBI. 3B Kris Negron added an RBI. RF Bill Rhinehart hit a solo home run (4).
Pensacola 2 Birmingham 0
-Tim Crabbe threw seven shutout innings for the Blue Wahoos (19-21). Curtis Partch (2-2) got the win tossing a scoreless inning with two strikeouts. Donnie Joseph struck out the side in the ninth for his seventh save.
-DH P.J. Phillips had a hit and scored on a pinch-hit, two-run homer (2) from RF Josh Fellhauer in the bottom of the eighth, which proved to be the winning runs.
Bakersfield 2 Stockton 1
-The Blaze (22-15) won game one of the doubleheader in dramatic fashion. Daniel Renken allowed one earned run over five innings. Jamie Walczak (2-2) got the win throwing two scoreless innings.
-SS Billy Hamilton was 0-2 and as thrown out trying to steal. CF Bryson Smith had two hits including a solo shot (3). LF Juan Duran won the game with a walk-off homer (4) in the bottom of the seventh.
Bakersfield 6 Stockton 1
-Pat Doyle (3-1) pitched six scoreless innings for the Blaze (23-15) in game two. Brian Pearl gave up the only run in his one inning of work.
-DH Billy Hamilton was 2-4 with a double, a triple, three RBI, and two runs scored. SS Devin Lohman added a hit and drove in two runs. RF Theo Bowe continues to swing a hot bat smacking a solo shot (1) and scoring two runs. Through his first three games with Bakersfield, he is hitting .800.
*Chad Rogers was named the California League Pitcher of the Week for the week ending May 13.
Lansing 2 Dayton 1
-The Dragons (14-25) lost their fourth straight game with starter Tanner Robles (2-3) yielding two earned runs in four innings. Kyle McMyne (2.0), Lucas O'Rear (2.2), and Carlos Contreras (0.1) combined to throw five scoreless innings of relief.
-SS Juan Perez had a hit and knocked in the lone run. LF Juan Silva was 2-4. C Nick O'Shea had a double and a run scored.
