|Steve Selsky had a big night for the Dragons|
who split a double header.
-The Bats (10-23) rallied to within one run in the seventh before allowing six runs in the eighth in the loss. Sean Gallagher (1-3) gave up five earned over five innings. Ron Mahay surrendered two runs without getting an out before giving way to Jordan Smith who yielded four total runs, three of them earned in an inning of work. Carlos Fisher (2.0) andJosh Judy (1.0) combined for three scoreless innings.
-Every Bats' player had a hit. 2B Chris Valaika had a double, an RBI, and a run scored. 3B Mike Costanzo had two doubles, and two RBI, and a run. C Corky Miller knocked in the other run.
Mississippi 3 Pensacola 1 (7 innings)
-After back-to-back 12-inning games, the Blue Wahoos (15-18) loss a rain-shortened seven-inning affair Tuesday night. Kyle Lotzkar (0-1) allowed all three runs, two of them earned, over six innings. Wilkin De La Rosa threw 2/3 scoreless before the game was called.
-SS Brodie Greene two hits and a run scored. 1B Joel Guzman had the RBI. 3B Henry Rodriguez had a hit and is now batting .348 on the year.
Bakersfield 3 Lancaster 2
-Justice French struck out four over six scoreless innings for the Blaze (18-13). Daniel Wolford (2-0) got the win, despite a blown save and giving up two earned runs in his two innings. Brian Pearl picked up the save (6), striking out two in a scoreless ninth.
-SS Billy Hamilton went 0-4, dropping his season average to .360. RF Andrew Means was 2-3 with two RBI. 1B Donald Lutz was the hero with the go-ahead solo home run in the top of the ninth.
Fort Wayne 3 Dayton 1 (16 innings) (Game 1)
-It was supposed to be a seven-inning game as part of a double header, but the Dragons (12-19) lost it in the 16th. Dan Jensen started and pitched four innings, giving up just one unearned run. Ryan Kemp (3.0), Carlos Contreras (2.0), and Ryan Kiel (4.0) combined to throw nine shutout innings in the middle. El'Hajj Muhammad (0-1) was the losing pitcher, surrendering two runs over his three innings of work.
-The Dragons mustered just five hits the whole game, but RF Steve Selsky had two of them, a double and a triple. LF Juan Silva accounted for the only RBI.
Dayton 4 Fort Wayne 2 (7 innings) (Game 2)
-The second game held true to just the seven innings a minor league double header should be and the Dragons (13-19) were able to prevail. Radhames Quezada (1-3) gave up one unearned run and one earned run, while striking out six over five innings. Brooks Pinckard tossed two perfect innings, striking out three for the save (1).
-SS Juan Perez had a double and a run. RF Kyle Waldrop had a triple and scored two runs. LF Selsky knocked in three runs, including a two-run homer in the second inning.
