Reds Dominate Rockies 10-3

J.J Hoover picked up his first Major League win!

The Cincinnati Reds (26-20) extended their lead in the Central Division to 1.5 games as they put on an offensive show scoring 10 runs. Only 2 Reds position players failed to get a hit and score a run as the Rockies defense continued to struggle, and offered no help, behind starter Jeremy Guthrie. He gave up 6 runs over 5 innings. However, only 2 runs were earned. The bullpen also failed for the Rockies as they came in for 3 innings while giving up 4 more runs.

Here is a look at The Good, Bad, and Notables from tonight's game.

The Good
- The Reds have (hopefully) started a new winning streak

- Brandon Phillips seems to be finding his groove. He had 3 hits, 2 RBI, and 2 Runs scored from the cleanup spot

- Chris Heisey is getting hot as well. On 2 hits, he scored 2 runs and had 3 RBI
- Heisey, Ryan Ludwick and Devin Mesoraco all hit home runs.

- The team batting average was .353

The Bad
-Mike Leake to did not pitch well. In 3.2 innings he gave up 9 hits and 3 runs

-Miguel Cairo had an error

-Todd Frazier and Cairo were the only position players not to score a run or gather a hit

The Notables
- Entering the game, the Reds were batting .197 with runners in scoring position. They went .412 today. Let's hope this starts a hot streak.

-The attendance was announced at 35,314, encouraging for the Reds as attendance continues to improve. 

-The Reds pitchers struck out 11 combined batters triggering the free pizza and ice cream promotion
-J.J Hoover picked up his first major league win

-Old Man Moyer pitches tomorrow for the Rockies against Mat Latos.
