Reds Lose 3-2 Despite Solid Performance by Leake

Did Mike Leake Pitch well enough to stay in the rotation?
Mike Leake, who perhaps is pitching for his big league life, had a quality start going 7 innings while allowing 3 earned runs. However, Leake still ended up with his 4th loss of the season. It has been rumored that if Leake performed poorly tonight, his next start would be skipped and he would be on his way out of the starting rotation. His strong performance tonight gets him at least 1 more start before any decision will by made. Take a look at the usual recap of tonight's game. You know the drill.

The Good
- Joey Votto got 2 hits and a walk. With a double and intentional walk he added to his MLB lead in both categories.
-Scott Rolen (10) and Zack Cozart (6) each picked up an RBI.
-As mentioned Mike Leake pitched well with 7 innings, 4 hits, 3 runs.
-Jose Arrendondo pitched a scoreless inning despite allowing 2 hits and 2 walks.

The Bad
-The offense continues to struggle. Votto was the only player with more than 1 hit (2)
- Ryan Ludwick went 0-4 with a strike out
-The Reds lost to the Pirates

The Notables
- Chris Heisey failed to get on base in a pinch hit situation. He was been stellar in that role but couldn't get it done today.
- Happy Birthday to Ron Oester who turned 56 today.
-Mat Latos takes the mound tomorrow against Charlie Morton of the Pirates. Morton killed the Reds last year so let's hope for a better outcome!
