MINOR details 6/26/12: Nine is fine! Bats win again

It was a ninth straight win for the Bats.
Bats (31-49), Last place International League West, 17.0 GB
-Nine in a row! Tim Gustafson started and threw four innings of two-run baseball. J.J. Hoover (W 1-0, 1.64) got the win with a perfect inning. Donnie Joseph closed the game for his third save.
-CF Joey Gathright, 1B Danny Dorn, and Gustafson each collected an RBI. LF Felix Perez went 4-5, with two doubles and a run scored. RF Bill Rhinehart was 2-4, with a double and two RBI.

Blue Wahoos (37-37, 3-3), T-2nd place Southern League South, 1.0 GB
-Tim Crabbe (L 3-4, 4.17) gave up four total runs, three earned, in five innings. Brian Pearl and Mark Serrano each threw two scoreless innings.
-2B Brodie Greene drove in a run on a hit. C Brian Peacock finished 2-4, with a run scored. SS Miguel Rojas also drove in a run.

Blaze (44-32, 3-3), T-3rd place California League North, 2.0 GB
-Josh Smith gave up three earned runs in five innings, while striking out seven. Blaine Howell threw two scoreless innings. Andrew Brackman (L 0-1, 5.87) got the loss with one unearned run scoring in the eighth.
-SS Billy Hamilton was 1-5, with a run scored and a stolen base (92). 3B Travis Mattair went 3-4, with a double and a three-run home run (11).

Dragons (30-45, 0-5), Last place Midwest League Eastern, 3.0 GB
-Stalin Gerson started and tossed six shutout innings. Carlos Contreras blew the save, allowing two earned runs in two innings. Erik Miller (L 0-2, 9.49) was the losing pitcher, giving up three total runs, one of them earned, in two innings.
-SS Juan Perez (2) and 1B Nick O’Shea (1) each hit a solo shot.

Mustangs (7-2), 1st place Pioneer League North, 3.0 up
-Sal Romano pitched four innings, yielding two runs, one earned. Dan Langfield (W 1-0, 4.50) was awarded the win despite giving up two earned runs in two innings. Sean Lucas got the save (1) by getting the final out.
-SS Sammy Diaz went 2-4, with an RBI and two runs. RF Jesse Winker finished 3-3, with a double, two walks, an RBI, and a run. LF Spencer Dickinson had two hits and two RBI. 1B Carlos Sanchez had two hits, with a double and an RBI. DH Brennan May was 4-4, with two doubles, a triple, two RBI, and a run.

Reds (1-5), T-Last place Arizona League Central, 4.5 GB
-Vaughn Covington (L 0-1, 7.50) had nine runs score against him, but just one was earned over his three innings of work. Luke Moran threw two scoreless innings. Jackson Stephens tossed a scoreless inning.
-2B Ty Washington (2) and LF Denis Phipps (2) each hit solo homers. RF Donald Lutz finished 4-4, with a double, two triples, three RBI and two runs scored. DH Avain Rachal, CF Jonathan Reynoso, and 1B Wilfrel Estevez each drove in a run.
