The month of May treated the Redlegs very kindly. It was a month that saw them not only get over the .500 mark, but it saw them catapult past the Cardinals for first place in the division as well. And you can't do that without some getting some good individual play from your players.
Here are a couple of guys who were pivotal in the positive turnaround this month:

Honorable mentions: Ryan Hanigan, Chris Heisey, and Todd Frazier
Pitcher of the month

Aroldis Chapman - The Cuban Missile continues to make a mockery of major league hitters. He posted a 2-0 record with three saves and three holds in 12 appearances spanning 13.2 IP in May. He allowed just TWO hits during those outings while fanning 23 batters. He's yet to yield an earned run all season long and is virtually a lock to make his first career All-Star appearance should he keep this dominance up.
Honorable mentions: Mat Latos, Alfredo Simon and J.J. Hoover
Congrats to both of these guys on bringing home the hardware. Let's hope they continue to stay hot in the upcoming months.
