Reds Win Again 6-2

Brandon Phillips adds to the lead, stepping up since the loss of Votto
The Cincinnati Reds have continued to stay hot since the All-Star Break. Behind a strong performance by Bronson Arroyo and big hits my Ludwick and Phillips, the first place team won for the 6th time out of 9 games and with a win tomorrow would sweep both the St. Louis Cardinals and The Brewers. Preseason predictions had both of them competing for the NL Central Crown but right now it is a race between the Reds and the surprising Pittsburgh Pirates. Here is a brief recap of tonight's game with the usual Good, Bad, and Notables.

The Good
-Bronson Arroyo pitched 6 innings allowing only 2 runs while picking up the win.
- The 4 man combo of Arredondo, Marshall, LeCure, and Ondrusek came in for relief and pitched 3 scoreless innings allowing absolutely no room for a possible comeback.
- Ryan Ludwick hit a first inning homer to set pace for the home team. He had 2 hits and 2 RBI
-Brandon Phillips stayed hot with his 12th home run of the season. He now has 7 RBI over the last 3 games. He is doing his best to make up for the absence of Joey Votto
- Scott Rolen added an RBI

The Bad
-With a win like this it is hard to point out to many mistakes.
-Sean Marshall had a balk called on him
-Ryan Hanigan went 0-3 but did draw a walk.
-5 runners were left on base.

The Notables
-Great American Ballpark was officially sold out for the 9th time the season
-If you are headed out to the 1:15 game tomorrow remember to grab your broom on the way out. The Reds are looking to sweep the 3 game series.
-The Reds are 14 games over .500 and have won 10 of the last 12 games.
