MINOR details 8/21/12: Billy Hamilton steals the steals record

-Billy Hamilton gets the top spot for this edition. Surely you’ve heard what happened last night. Hamilton needed two steals to tie, and three to break Vince Coleman’s record of 145. He did one better and stole four in the first game of a doubleheader to finish the night with 147, becoming the single season “King of Thieves.”  For the game, he was 1-2, with two walks and the four thefts. C Tucker Barnhart hit a game-tying, two-run home run (2) in the bottom of the seventh to tie the game and send it to extra innings.
-Unfortunately, the Blue Wahoos lost. Tony Cingrani took a perfect game into the sixth inning before giving up two earned runs on three hits through seven innings, while striking out seven. Justin Freeman (L 3-6, 2.82) gave up two earned runs in one innings to take the loss.

Blue Wahoos (63-64, 29-29), 3rd place Southern League South, 4.0 GB
-Chad Rogers went four innings, allowing one earned run. Josh Ravin (L 1-3, 5.63) giving up an unearned run in one inning.
-LF Donald Lutz was 2-3, with a double and a RBI.

Bats (50-82), Last place International League West, 28.5 GB
-Nick Masset (L 0-1, 8.10) suffered the loss, giving up four earned runs without getting an out. Nick Christiani threw three scoreless innings.
-SS Didi Gregorius was 2-5, with a double, two RBI, and a run. 2B Henry Rodriguez and LF Cody Puckett each collected two RBI as well.

Blaze (64-63, 23-34), 4th place California League North, 9.0 GB
-Josh Smith (W 9-7, 3.54) struck out six over six innings of two-run baseball. Blaine Howell tossed two scoreless innings. Carlos Contreras got his third save.
-DH Ryan Wright finished 2-3, with a two-run homer (5) and two runs scored.

Dragons (55-70, 25-30), 7th place Midwest League Eastern, 8.0 GB
-Radhames Quezada started and went four scoreless innings. Wes Mugarian (W 3-3, 6.10) gave up two earned runs and struck out four over four innings.
-DH Sean Buckley was 2-2, with two walks, two doubles, and three RBI.

Mustangs (37-24, 16-7), 1st place Pioneer League North 3.0 up
-Jonathan Moscot started and tossed three scoreless frames. Bennett Klimesh (L 0-3, 4.56) took the loss, getting only two outs, while giving up two earned runs.
-1B Carlos Sanchez was 2-4, with a double, triple, and a RBI.

Reds (17-33), 3rd place Arizona League Central, 14.0 GB
-Nick Travieso started and threw four innings. Wandy Peralta (W 3-6, 6.59) got the win with two scoreless innings.
-C Daniel Paula was 2-2, with a RBI.
