MINOR details 9/5/12: Mustangs denied win by walk-off homer

Mustangs (42-33, 21-16), 2nd place Pioneer League North 1.0 GB
-Andrew Cisco started and struck out nine over 6.2 innings of one-run baseball. Michael Salter tossed a scoreless inning. Matt Wiley (L 3-2, 2.45) suffered the loss, allowing two earned runs on a walk-off homer.
-Both Mustangs runs came on solo home runs. One by LF Jesse Winker (5) and one by 2B Brandon Dailey (5).

The Mustangs and Osprey play again tonight. Though the Osprey currently hold a 1.0 game lead, if the Mustangs win tonight, they will claim the playoff spot by virtue of a tie-breaker.

Second-half ties
If two teams tie for the second half title with exactly the same winning percentage, the following tie breaking rules are used to determine the second half champion:

1. Head to head records between the two teams tied during entire season; 
2. Won/loss percentage in Division games during entire season; 
3. Won/loss percentage in overall play during the entire season; and 
4. Coin flip by League President.

Pensacola Blue Wahoos (68-70, 34-35), 3rd place Southern League South, 4.0 GB 

Bakersfield Blaze (72-68, 31-39), 4th place California League North, 8.0 GB
Bakersfield did qualify for the playoffs after winning the first-half title.

Dayton Dragons (60-78, 30-38), Last place Midwest League Eastern, 11.0 GB

AZL Reds (18-38), Last place Arizona League Central, 16.5 GB
