Busy day for Reds prospects as Javelinas lose
It was an old-fashioned wild west shootout between the Peoria Javelinas and the Salt River Rafters on Wednesday. The teams combined for 28 hits, 14 a piece, but it was the Rafters who emerged victorious by a score of 12-9 over the Javelinas.
The game saw six of the seven Reds prospects get playing time. It was a bag of mixed results regarding their performances.
-CF Billy Hamilton was 0-3, with two walks, three steals (4), and two runs scored.
-1B Donald Lutz went 3-5, with three runs and a steal (1). He's currently third in the league with a .480 batting average.
-SS Didi Gregorius finished a paltry 0-5 and committed his league-leading fourth error of the season.
-RHP Drew Hayes surrendered two earned runs on three hits and two walks in just 2/3 of an inning.
-It was a rough night for RHP Josh Ravin (L 0-1, 13.50) who suffered a blown save and the loss, allowing an earned run in an inning of work. He allowed two hits and struck out one. He inherited two runners, both of whom scored. The lone run with which he was charged came on a steal of home against him.
-RHP Curtis Partch notched a scoreless inning of work with one punchout.
