3-2 win for Peoria as they outhit Surprise 10 to six. Every Reds pitcher was used in this one and two of the three hitters saw action as well. They all did their best to figure into deciding the game as well.
-CF Billy Hamilton went 1-4, with a run scored and a stolen base (5). He scored the go-ahead run in the 5th inning. He reached on a bunt, stole second, got to third on a throwing error by the catcher, and then scored on a groundout.
-1B Donald Lutz finished 3-4, with a double and a two-run home run. It was his first homer and his third and fourth RBI of the season. Interestingly enough, he hit it off former Reds prospect J.C. Sulbaran who was part of the Jonathan Broxton trade. He raised his batting average to a lofty .517.
-RHP Tim Crabbe started and went 2.2 innings, allowing an earned run on two hits, two walks, and a homer. He also struck out two batters.
-RHP Josh Ravin relieved Crabbe and was promptly charged with a blown save (2) after giving up one earned run in 1.1 innings.
-RHP Drew Hayes (W 2-0, 3.18) followed him and threw two scoreless innings with three strikeouts to get the win. He surrendered no hits and walked one.
-RHP Curtis Partch closed the game to pick up his first save. He gave up one hit and walk, while striking out two. He's the owner of a tidy 1.93 ERA so far.
