Top 12 games of the Reds season: No. 12

Today marks day one in what very well could be the longest baseball offseason around Cincinnati in recent memory. So instead of dwelling in what could have been, we've compiled a list of the Top 12 Games from the 2012 Season. We will reveal each game on the list one day at a time until we complete the countdown beginning at 12 and ending at No. 1.

Considerations used while ranking the games included such factors as the importance, rarity, and excitability of the given game, among others.

June 14, 2012

Reds 12, Indians 5

+ Cincinnati completes a 3-game sweep over their instate rivals on the strength of a 17-hit day by their offense. Five different Reds enjoy multi-hit games in perhaps the best display of hitting by an offensively-challenged club all year long. Brandon Phillips leads the onslaught with three hits, including a homer, and a game-high four RBI. Ryan Ludwick joins in on the fun with three hits of his own including a double and a longball. Zack Cozart notches a trio of base hits as well. The announced crowd of 34,193 at Great American Ball Park go home with bragging rights in the Ohio Cup.
