Didi Gregorius homers as Javelinas and Desert Dogs play halfsies

It was a loss for Peoria on Monday afternoon as they were outscored 6-4 by Phoenix. Both teams committed an error, but the Javelinas were outhit 8-6 by the Desert Dogs in defeat. The Reds prospects played a substantial role in this one, but the results were not hugely positive.

-CF Billy Hamilton was 1-4, with a run scored and a stolen base (10). He's hitting .273 on the season with just a couple games left. He did commit his first error, which allowed a run to score.

-1B Travis Mattair went 0-4, with a strikeout.

-RHP Tim Crabbe started the game and allowed four earned runs in three innings. He gave up five hits and two walks, while striking out one.


Peoria turned the tables on Phoenix by beating them 8-1 on Tuesday. They absolutely dominated them pounding out 15 hits to the Desert Dogs' 4. The Desert Dogs also committed three errors to the Javelinas' one. Reds prospects did very well in this one.

-SS Didi Gregorius finished 2-4, with a home run (1), two runs scored, and a walk. It was his eighth RBI of the season. He raised his average to .282. He also committed his sixth error.

-3B Mattair struggled again going 0-4, with two strikeouts, lowering his BA to .188.

-RHP Drew Hayes was the first reliever in and he recorded a hold (3) with a perfect inning.

-RHP Josh Ravin struck out two in a perfect inning of work.

-RHP Curtis Partch finished the game with a perfect inning, striking out the final batter of the game.
