Travis Mattair has a couple of nice games as Peoria splits last two

Wednesday night saw Peoria drop its fifth straight game as the Javelinas were defeated 6-4 by the Surprise Saguaros. Despite outhitting them 11-10, and the Saguaros committing four errors, the Javelinas were unable to come out wth a victory. The two Reds prospects who played had a nice day though.

-3B Travis Mattair went 2-4, with a strikeout in his first start.

-2012 AFL Rising Star and RHP Curtis Partch tossed a scoreless inning, allowing one hit. His ERA stands at 2.08 so far.

The Javelinas finally got back to their winning ways on Thursday. They outscored the Mesa Solar Sox 7-4 to pick up their 12th victory of the season. They pounded out 14 hits on the way to the win. Three Reds players took part in this game.

-1B Mattair got another start and had another good game going 2-3, with two runs scored and a strikeout in this one. That brings his batting average to .500 in his limited playing time.

-SS Didi Gregorius was 0-3, with a strikeout, but did collect an RBI (6) with a sacrifice fly.

-RHP Tim Crabbe started the game and allowed an earned run on three hits and a walk over three innings. He struck out two and gave up a home run. His ERA is still a tidy 2.25 on the season.
