A Letter to Drew Stubbs

 by: Chase Fitzgerald

Dear Drew Stubbs,

I’ve just found that you are now going to be an Indian and I just wanted to say goodbye. You’ve had your ups and downs, but I honestly really enjoyed watching you play. You may have been the most electrifying player on the Reds by always being a threat to steal a base and making some catches in center field look plain easy. My favorite moment of you as a Red has to be your game-saving catch in Miami. I attended that game and I remember taking the biggest sigh of relief in my life as you came down with that catch. I got to watch you play every day and you being traded is like losing a family member to me. I’m going to miss watching you in a Reds uniform and I wish you the best of luck in Cleveland. I saw your flashes of brilliance and nothing will make me smile more than watching you reach your potential in Cleveland. Just remember Drew, all us fans will be cheering for you no matter where you go and I would expect a warm welcome when you come back to Cincinnati.

Signed,

Chase
