Although none of these players are currently in the Reds organization, they were at one time, and if you're anything like me, you're probably curious to know how they're doing.
With that being said, here is a spring update on some of the notable ex-Reds.
1B Yonder Alonso (San Diego)
+ Former 7th overall pick (2008) is hitting .138 (4-for-29) with no homers, one RBI, one double, and no walks this spring. Despite his recent woes, the 25-year-old is still listed as the starting first basemen on San Diego's depth chart.
SP Edinson Volquez (San Diego)
+ Former All-Star has started two games and compiled four innings pitched. Has allowed 10 hits and six earned runs to give him an ERA of 13.50. He stands as the No. 2 starter on San Diego's depth chart.
C Yasmani Grandal (San Diego)
+ Former 12th overall pick (2010) is hitting .556 (5-for-9) with no homers, four RBI, and four walks. He is facing a 50-game suspension due to a positive PED test over the winter. Grandal is battling for the starting catcher job with two others, according to San Diego's depth chart.
SP Travis Wood (Chicago)
+ The 26-year-old is 3-0 with a 3.00 ERA in four appearances. He has allowed seven hits and four runs over 12 total innings of work. Southpaw has fanned 11 against four walks. According to Chicago's depth chart, he is battling for the fifth slot in their rotation.
OF Drew Stubbs (Cleveland)
+ Former eighth overall pick (2006) is batting .240 (6-for-25) with three extra base hits and four RBI. Has drew only one walk and struckout eight times. He is slated as the starting right fielder to make room for free agent Michael Bourn in center.
SS Didi Gregorius (Arizona)
+ A lingering elbow injury has limited him to just five at-bats this spring (2-for-5). He is currently listed third on Arizona's depth chart at shortstop.
RP Francisco Cordero (Free Agent)
+ The 37-year-old pitched for the Houston Astros last season after being dealt by the Toronto Blue Jays. But was released in September after going 0-3 in six appearances. He has yet to sign with another team.
RP Bill Bray (Washington)
+ Southpaw is back with the franchise who originally drafted him. Bray has allowed five hits and three runs in two innings pitched this spring. He is fighting for a spot in Washington's crowded bullpen.
RP Jared Burton (Minnesota)
+ The 32-year-old is 0-1 with a 7.36 ERA in four appearances. He is listed as the setup man for the Twins, according to their depth chart. He experienced a resurgence in 2012 as noted by his 62.0 innings pitched and 2.18 ERA.
OF Chris Denorfia (San Diego)
+ Is batting .375 (6-for-16) with no homers and two RBI. Is participating in the World Baseball Classic for Italy. The 32-year-old is currently listed as the third center fielder on the Padres depth chart.
OF Josh Hamilton (Los Angeles Angels)
+ Signed a lucrative deal with the Halos last offseason. Is hitting .316 (6-for-19) with one homer and two RBI. Will play right field alongside CF Peter Bourjos and LF Mike Trout to give LA one of the most athletic outfields in the league.
DH Adam Dunn (Chicago White Sox)
+ The Big Donkey is batting .182 (4-for-22) with two homers and four RBI. Has walked four times and struckout another five.
UTL Jerry Hairston Jr. (Los Angeles Dodgers)
+ The 37-year-old is hitting .286 (4-for-14) with three RBI and three walks. Hairston is currently listed as the backup left fielder on LA's depth chart.
C Ramon Hernandez (Colorado)
+ Veteran is 2-for-8 with no homers or RBI this spring. He is currently listed as the backup on Colorado's depth chart.
INF Paul Janish (Atlanta Braves)
+ Defensive wizard has yet to appear in a spring game this year. He is recovering from a torn labrum and is expected to return in April.
OF Jonny Gomes (Boston)
+ Fearless outfielder is hitting .250 (5-for-20) with one homer and two RBI. Gomes is currently slated to start in left field this season, according to the Boston depth chart.
OF Laynce Nix (Philadelphia)
+ The 32-year-old is seeing plenty of action for the Phils. He is batting .231 (6-for-26) with one homer and five RBI. Nix is fighting for a spot on Philly's Opening Day roster.
OF Chris Dickerson (Baltimore)
+ Dickerson is batting .294 (5-for-17) with no homers and no RBI in 11 games. He is a longshot to make Baltimore's big league roster out of camp.
SP Matt Maloney (Free Agent)
+ The southpaw is currently out of baseball after spending last season in the Minnesota Twins organization.
OF Austin Kearns (Miami)
+ Former seventh overall pick is hoping to make the Marlins out of camp. He is currently hitting .095 (2-for-21) with no extra base hits and no RBI.
