Reds place 12 players on Sports Illustrated's top 300 list

The new fantasy baseball season is quickly approaching as team owners continue to do their research before partaking in their league draft. Sports Illustrated has provided fantasy owners with some help this year by compiling a top 300 rankings list of the best players heading into the 2013 season.

SI apparently thinks highly of the Reds as evidenced by the 12 players Cincinnati placed in the rankings. Here are the players and the order in which they landed:

1B Joey Votto (9)
OF Jay Bruce (44)
SP Johnny Cueto (57)
SP Aroldis Chapman (71)
SP Mat Latos (89)
OF Shin-Soo Choo (94)
3B Todd Frazier (101)
2B Brandon Phillips (110)
RP Jonathan Broxton (176)
OF Ryan Ludwick (234)
OF Homer Bailey (241)
SS Zack Cozart (262)

I have no real complaints about the rankings other than I believe Phillips is undervalued a little bit.

Reigning 2012 AL Rookie of the Year Mike Trout claimed the top spot.

Milwaukee's Ryan Braun, Detroit's Miguel Cabrera, Dodgers OF Matt Kemp, and Angels 1B Albert Pujols rounded out the top five.
