Reds auctioning off infamous ball from Aroldis Chapman-Nick Swisher fiasco

On Memorial Day, things got heated when Aroldis Chapman uncorked a pair of 100 MPH wild pitches near the head of Indians slugger Nick Swisher. Naturally, Swisher took offense to the gesture, and the whole ordeal nearly incited a bench-clearing brawl as Cleveland players toed the edge of the dugout after the second pitch was thrown.

Now, it appears as though fans can literally have a piece of the moment by bidding on one of the balls that Chapman threw during that controversial ninth inning. This ball is the one Chapman threw on the first pitch of the at-bat and not the second one which almost caused a riot. However, it is still a neat piece of memorabilia if you are one of the folks who has deep pockets.

The current high bid as of Tuesday evening was $201.01. The auction ends Sunday, June 9.

The jersey Chapman was wearing at the time is also being auctioned off. The current high bid for it is right at $1,750. So, why not buy both and complete the set?

All proceeds from the sale of these items will go toward the Reds Community Fund.
