The Reds were in need of a solid start by a starting pitcher after the Cardinals battered Cincy's pitching staff over the weekend. Fortunately, Mat Latos delivered one on Tuesday night.
The big right-hander limited the Oakland A's to no runs and four hits over 7.1 innings of work. He struck out three and walked three en route to improving his season record to 11-3.
He threw 108 pitches, 67 of them for strikes, and also slashed a single into right field in his third at-bat.
The 25-year-old is now 25-7 since being acquired prior to the 2012 campaign. That is pretty good, folks.
