It may have taken 13 innings, but the Reds finally pulled out a win on Sunday thanks to a sacrifice fly by Joey Votto that plated Jack Hannahan, giving the team its second straight series win, and its fourth win in the past five games overall.
Offense didn't come easily for Cincinnati in the series finale against the San Diego Padres. The Reds finished the game with just five hits, three of which came from either pinch-hitters or the pitcher's spot.
Nevertheless, the Reds emerged victorious, capping off a 5-3 homestand before heading to Chicago on Monday for a three-game series against the Cubs.
Pittsburgh lost their game on Sunday, so the Reds moved to within five games of first place, while Arizona lost its game as well, pushing Cincy's lead in the Wild Card to 5.5 games.
