Report: Pirates to meet with Bronson Arroyo's agent

In an effort to round out their starting rotation, the Pittsburgh Pirates are reportedly expected to meet with the agent who represents former Reds pitcher and current free agent Bronson Arroyo.
Burnett has recently stated that he will either pitch for the Pirates in 2014 or retire. Until then, Pittsburgh must proceed as if Burnett won't be returning.

Arroyo has spent eight of his last 14 big league seasons in Cincinnati. However, the 36-year-old does have a connection with the Pirates organization. Pittsburgh was the franchise who originally drafted the Florida native in the third round of the 1995 MLB Draft. He spent the next seven years in the organization before joining the Boston Red Sox prior to the 2003 campaign.

Arroyo is reportedly seeking a multi-year deal worth between $8 and $12 million per season. Simpy put, I would be shocked if the Pirates were able to pony up the cash for Arroyo's services.
