Dayton Dragons announce 2014 coaching staff

Although the 2014 coaching staff for the Reds has be in place for awhile now, the Dayton Dragons, Cincinnati's Single-A affiliate, announced its coaching staff on Monday afternoon.

Jose Nieves will return for his second season as skipper of the Dragons. The Venezuelan native guided the squad to a 65-73 record a season ago. He is in his fifth season overall in the Reds organization.

Tony Fossas will handle the pitching coach duties after previously serving that role from 2009 to 2011 and 2013. He spent the 2012 campaign elsewhere in the Reds organization. Fossas played a key role in helping Robert Stephenson win the organization's Minor League Pitcher of the Year in 2013.

Serving as hitting coach will be Luis Bolivar. The 2014 season will be his first with the Dragons after spending 2013 in the same position with the Arizona League Reds.

Together, the trio have 43 years of professional baseball playing experience and 11 years of coaching experience in the Reds organization.

Considering the bulk of Cincinnati's new wave of talented prospects reside in the lower level of the minor leagues, these men will play an instrumental part in the grooming of future Reds.
