Big Red Machine legend to serve as grand marshal of opening day parade

On Tuesday, the Reds made an announcement that Dave Concepcion will be the Grand Marshal of the 95th Findlay Market Opening Day Parade.

The annual parade is set to begin at noon on March 31 and will end well before the Reds play host to the Cardinals at 4:10 p.m. at Great American Ball Park.

Concepcion, a key cog in the Big Red Machine, spent his entire 19-year career wearing a Reds uniform. He won five Gold Gloves and earned trip to the All-Star Game on nine different occasions.

In 2000, Concepcion was inducted into the Reds Hall of Fame, while his No. 13 was formally retired by the team in 2007.
