LaRosa's Pizzeria bringing back strikeouts for pizza promotion in 2014

Back by popular demand, LaRosa's Pizzeria will once again be serving up free pizza to fans when Reds pitchers strikeout 11 or more hitters in a game.

In 2013, Reds hurlers eclipsed the magical 11-strikeout mark in nearly two dozen home games, resulting in LaRosa's shelling out over 200,000 free small pizzas. It's estimated that the free pizza was worth upwards of one million dollars. At one point early in the season, Reds pitchers were on pace to unlock the free pizza promotion every other home game, which would have amounted to around 40 occasions.

Prior to 2013, LaRosa's had only projected that the threshold would be met 11-13 times, based on the results from past seasons. However, Mat Latos, Homer Bailey, Aroldis Chapman and the rest of the pitching staff obviously exceeded those expectations.

Unfazed by last season's free pizza bonanza, LaRosa's has decided to extend the offer to fans for the 2014 campaign, as well. The only notable change is that the Cincinnati pizza company has cut back on the number of toppings fans can receive on their complimentary pie. Last year, fans could receive up to four toppings, however, that has been (wisely) cut back to just one this time around.

The offer is good beginning the day after the qualifying strikeout game and extends to seven days thereafter. LaRosa's will honor the free pizza for dine in, pick up, or delivery. However, delivery charges and delivery minimums still apply.

Alright, so who's ready for baseball and free pizza?
