The surgery was performed by team physician Dr. Timothy Kremchek in Goodyear, Ariz.
The right-hander is expected to resume his throwing program within 10 days.
According to the Cincinnati Enquirer, the injury occurred when Latos reportedly slipped on the mound on Thursday.
Needless to say, the news of Latos' surgery came as a surprise to many around Reds Country, who were completely blindsided that he needed surgery at all.
Fortunately, it appears as though it's nothing major and Latos will be good to go in due time.
