Reds claim pitcher Brett Marshall off waivers

The Reds added another right-handed arm to their arsenal on Wednesday by claiming Brett Marshall off waivers from the Cubs.

Unfortunately, the addition of Marshall meant a pink slip for infielder Henry Rodrgiuez, who was designated for assignment.

Marshall, 23, saw action in just three games for the Yankees in 2013, spending majority of his time at Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre. He went 7-10 with a 5.13 ERA in 25 starts there.

Rodriguez made 23 at-bats for the Reds over the past two seasons. However, like Marshall, played most of the year in Triple-A, hitting .274/.319/.335 with Louisville.
