Reds set to sell gourmet waffles during games

Taste of Belgium

Move over, hot dogs, pizza, popcorn, cotton candy, and peanuts. There is a new item on the Cincinnati Reds' list of concession offerings and it's Belgian waffles.

That's right. Beginning next week, fans who desire to sink their fork (and teeth) into a warm waffle will have the chance to do so thanks to the Cincinnati-based company Taste of Belgium.

The Official Waffle of the Cincinnati Reds will be available from a concession stand down the first base line. The menu options include a plain waffle for $5, a waffle with chocolate and whipped cream or strawberries and cream for $7, their signature waffle and chicken for $10, and Belgian frites for $7, which are similar to the food item we know as French fries.

Started in 2007 by Belgium native Jean-Francois Fletchet, The Taste of Belgium currently features five locations spread across Ohio and northern Kentucky.
