Report: Reds boast largest payroll in division

Regardless of how the 2014 season plays out for the Reds, no one can fault ownership for not heavily investing in the team.

According to a report by the Associated Press, Cincinnati's estimated team payroll of $112.39 million ranks as the largest among all National Central Division clubs, and 12th-highest of all teams in Major League Baseball.

The rival Cardinals aren't too far behind at $111 million though. Meanwhile, the Brewers ($103.8M), the Cubs ($89M), and the Pirates ($78.1) rank 16th, 23rd, and 27th, respectively.

The cash-happy Dodgers topped the list with a payroll of $235 million. Thus, ending a 15-year streak by the Yankees as the largest spenders in baseball.
