So, Roger Bernadina has proven to be a good late offseason addition thus far.
The 29-year-old signed a minor league deal with the Reds in late January and has been nothing short of superb in spring training. At the time of this writing, the Curacao native was batting .441 with three home runs and ten RBI. More importantly, his on-base percentage was hovering around the .600 mark.
Seen here is Bernadina tagging a three-run bomb against the Chicago Cubs on Saturday.
His solid play and the injury to Skip Schumaker has made him a strong candidate to make Cincinnati's Opening Day roster. Originally signed with the intent to provide some depth behind Billy Hamilton, Bernadina could force his way into the lineup if he continues to hit like this.
Of course, Chris Heisey and Ryan Ludwick have a thing or two to say about that.
