Not many Reds fans probably knew who Steve Selsky was entering Monday's spring training game. In fact, some may still have a clue who he is. But the youngster made his presence felt with a walk-off double against the Indians.
Watch as the 24-year-old rips a two-bagger down the third base line to plate a pair of runs and propel the Reds to their fifth straight victory of the spring.
In 2013, Selsky split time between Single-A and Double-A where he slashed .297/.388/.497 in 423 at-bats. The University of Arizona product also smashed 13 home runs and 80 ribbies.
A 33rd round draft pick by the Reds in 2011, Selsky has already defied the odds by hanging around the professional ranks this long, so maybe he'll be a name we'll want to keep in mind as a few more years passes. Again, it's a longshot, but you just never know.
