After picking up his first major league hit on Saturday, Tucker Barnhart might have to wait awhile for the chance to pick up another one.
On Monday, the Reds announced the activation of Devin Mesoraco from the 15-day disabled list and optioned Barnhart to Triple-A Louisville in order to make room on the roster.
Barnhart, 23, was 2-for-8 in his brief stint with the big club. He also gunned down the only runner who attempted to steal a base off him.
Mesoraco, 25, has been recovering from an oblique injury he sustained near the end of spring training. He's not in the starting lineup for Monday, but is expected to be in it on Tuesday.
