In case you weren't able to stay awake past midnight, which I assume is a lot of fans, a run was eventually scored to decide the outcome of the game at Great American Ball Park.
Fortunately, that run was scored by the Reds, thanks in large part to this frozen rope off the bat of Chris Heisey. Heisey's single off Cardinals reliever Carlos Martinez plated Ryan Ludwick for Cincinnati's first run and win of the 2014 season. Just look at the on-field celebration immediately following the hit.
Game three of the series is set to take place Thursday afternoon. Homer Bailey is slated to oppose Lance Lynn in a 12:35 start. The winner of this game wins the series.
As an added bonus, you will find the post-game interview of Heisey talking about his game-winning hit with Jeff Piecoro below. Heisey credits his new stance for a hot spring and last night's swing.
