Reds (Finally) Make A Deal, Sign Reliever

Say hello to the newest Red

It's not likely to satisfy the growing discontent among Reds fans clamoring for a blockbuster trade, but at least the club made some remnant of a move this week.

According to multiple sources, the team added some bullpen depth by inking free agent RHP Kanekoa Texeira. The details of the signing are unknown at this point, however it's safe to assume the deal is good for one year and close to the league minimum.

The 25-year old hailing from Kula, Hawaii was selected in the 22nd round by the White Sox in the 2006 Draft. He spent parts of the last two seasons pitching for the Royals, where he appeared in 33 games and boasted a 4.41 ERA in 49 innings pitched.

Cincinnati is now the fifth organization Texeira has played for -- the previous four were/are members of the American League.
